I bought this one purely for nostalgic reasons, plus I found a 100ml for less than $10 so why not? It’s funny to see how many of these reviews are memory/nostalgia based comments, because that’s exactly my connection to this perfume. Does it smell cheap, plastic, and terrible? I don’t know, I guess it does to some people, but not me. Personally, the memories connected to it are so strong that it’s nearly impossible to be objective. I don’t usually like (nor write) reviews that describe a memory/fragrance link, but because it seems to be a theme on BN for Sunflowers, here is mine:
The winter in the mid-1990’s, I’m 11 or 12 years old and my friend took me along to the Florida Keys on a family vacation. His sister, 15 or so at the time, got to bring a friend too…and she brought Ann. Oh, Ann. I was still at the age where talking to girls wasn’t easy (if not impossible) never mind talking to two older, gorgeous, tall, leggy high school girls who perpetually wore bikini tops and cut-off jean shorts. Ann and my friends’ sister got tipsy one night and flirted with me…a lot. Ann wore Sunflowers. I know this because she sprayed some on her bare long neck and asked me to smell it. I was in heaven, pure bliss…it was more the situation than the perfume, but you know what they say about scent and memories.
It’s my first strong memory of that cosmically powerful, burning desire towards the opposite sex, and Sunflowers played a lead role. How can I not still love it?

Shop Elizabeth Arden Fragrance at Macy's. Macys.com carries a large selection of Elizabeth Arden Fragrance, Elizabeth Arden Perfume, Elizabeth Arden Perfumes, and more.
The Elizabeth Arden Sunflower perfume has a nice floral scent when you first spray it onto your skin. However, I find the wear time of this perfume doesn't last that long, which is disappointing as the scent is very pleasant. So if you're looking for a perfume that has long wear time, this may not be your best option. The packaging is rather dated as well and certainly doesn't match the scent itself. The positive part is the price point, as it's very affordable and is available at a lot of pharmacies and department stores.
A little bottle of 'Sunflowers' came with a miniature set of Elizabeth Arden's perfumes for me at Christmas. I fell in love with the gorgeous floral scent immediately, very light, very summery and very fresh. The bottle it came in is also attractive. BUT and it is a big but, and contrary to other reviewers, I find that the fragrance does not linger, at least not on my skin which was a real disappointment. In fact I couldn't even smell it on my wrist one of the places where I sprayed.
I can only presume it is because it is an Eau de Toilette so probably would not buy it in the future because of that. This is one of my favourite fragrances from Elizabeth Arden. It's a very fresh, florally, sweet scent - reminds me of flowers, like when I wear this I can picture myself wearing a cute white dress with a crown of flowers on my head. It's also quite uplifting so it really helps me get into positive side of the day.
It's long-lasting and fast drying/absorbing as well. Plus, it really makes me feel very feminine, girly and youthful. It's a shame that it doesn't come in travel sized bottles though (well as far as I'm aware of), so it's really hard to carry it with me all the time - this is the only downside to it.
Otherwise, I don't have any other issues with it. Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden comes in a wide, tall and skinny glass holder with a matte white plastic lid.The colour of the perfume is a golden colour. The fragrance is refreshing and a great floral summer fragrance. The strength of the EDT is stronger than most EDTs and lasts for hours. The price is excellent for the amount you receive and if you want another fragrance it is a very good buy.The only thing I do not like is the shape of the bottle, the fact that it is so skinny and tall means that it is too easy to knock over but since this fragrance has been around for so long and is now considered a classic I do not believe that they will change the shape of the bottle now. This is what I call a good cheap perfume. I have used this numerous times and its great if you want to feel fresh and light without it being too overpowering with sweetness.
I can spray it all over top and bottom without it smelling too much of it and it lasts for at least a couple of hours as well. The only criticism I have is I find the colour is a bit too yellow ( compared to others )and also the glass bottle is too thinly built and sometimes it falls off the table. Otherwise its a good fragrance for your budget. I started reading perfume lovers blogs some time ago and I was surprised by the description of this smell.
It was sais to be a masterpiece and of course it is a classic. Apparently a lot of thought and heart had been put into creating that smell. I went to the Chemist Warehouse to buy it, I had known the smell before as my aunt used to wear it several years ago. As soon as I opened the box (actually a gift set with a shower gel and body lotion for 20$!!!!) I remembered my teenage years when I could smell it on the clothes my auntie had lent me. That is such a fantastic happy smell.
And considering the fact that this is only EDT! Unbelievably strong and long lasting. I am not that good to detect singular notes but overall I smell sweet and fruity but not overpowering. Very fresh and very elegant. I would associate the smell with a hot summer day in the fields full of flowers. The smell is warm, sunny. Amazing for summer in Australia.
But I guess one can wear it all year long, let's say two spritzes in summer and four in winter. I can't believe how cheap it is considering the quality. Perhaps because if its low price it is not considered any good or sophisticated, but believe me, sophisticated it is! I highly recommend.
A true classic!
